How do you restore these parts?

So, I think these were silver cadmium originally. Perhaps someone can confirm. Does anyone know who could do the silver cadmium plating for these and if not available, how close would the tin zinc plating be?I see Eastwood has a paint to replicate but I see they also have a tin zinc plating kit.

Also, were there four spark plug shields used like the one in the picture? Thanks in advance all.

Re: How do you restore these parts?

The plug wire looms all had the rubber on the part that retains the wires, and the 4 wire looms were Chevy engine orange if I recall correctly (including the rubber). I assume they were mounted on the engine when it was painted. The 2 wire looms were only used for the wires at the front positions and secured with the same bolts as the plug shields. The plug shield style you show was used at the left rear and right front positions. The left front used an arched shape shield that had a hole for the temperature sensor that screws into the head. I believe that one was also used at the right rear. The plug shields and all other brackets shown, except for the possible exception of the manifold stovepipe shield, appeared to be cad plated. Mine didn't have the manifold shield/stovepipe, but it seems to me they were black. I don't recognize the bracket above the coil bracket.

Re: How do you restore these parts?

Not sure what silver cadmium looks like but I used nickel plating on a lot of parts for my build. Reasonably priced and it gives it that bare metal finish. Not sure about other shops but the one here locally would probably charge 20-30 bucks for those parts. Check out my build in my signature, you'll get the idea

Re: How do you restore these parts?

You might try Eastwood. I think they have some paints that are designed to simulate cad plating.

Take a look at this. http://www.eastwood.com/ew-electropl...-tin-zinc.html Used this kit when restoring my 66 Corvette to NCRS standards. Does a very good job on small parts.
