Glove box question
Maybe a silly question but I was wondering, is there a spring or something that 'pushes' the glove box door open after you hit the latch button?
The button on my 66 unlatches fine but I have to dig my finger into the side to open the door. If I adjust the latch to make it easier to open the door, it rattles when closed. Just curious...

There are two little rubber bumpers that give it a little "spring"....also keeps the glovebox door from ratteling. I replaced my dry rotted ones and the door opens easier. There is no spring assembly that helps open it though. The lock kinda acts like a spring to open it. You might check the condition of the rubber bumpers...they are still produced and maybe adjust the latch a little.

1963-C10 is 100% correct! Also if you install the Glove box Light it too has a spring loaded switch that also pushes the door open!

Yes. There is a small spring located on the bottom center of the glovebox door. It just snaps into place. 66C10.

I did not take any pic's when I installed.... I'll look at my LMC cat.... It's just a small piece of spring steel that has a curve to it. It just snap into the glove box door....

Was that for 60-66 or just 64-66. I have never seen a spring in a 60-63 glove box door. Im not saying there isn't one, I've just never seen one and Ive taken a few out/apart.

64-66 use a small spring at the bottom center, it catches the bottom lip of the dash.

The 60-63 chevies had a raised pivot point.

I push the button with one finger and my thumb is pushing on the bottom of the door.. That seams to work too! my little bumpers have no spring left in them.

The '60-'63's also had the little flat spring on the lower edge of the glove box door.

The lower center spring looks like a clip, not like a traditional " spring ", I had forgotten about that even being there.

I replaced the little rubber bumpers and it didn't help with mine. I think I need one of them there springy things.

There are a set of bumpers at the lower hinges also. The door sits against them when open.
