picture request -- CST bedside panels
Hi!
Well, I've finally gotten around to putting the interior back in my Blazer. I've got the back carpet down and I'm trying to install the bed side panels, but they seem like they're a couple of inches too short! These are original panels, not reproductions. I know I'm installing them on the right sides because the holes are lining up with the stand-offs, but near the gate, the panels don't reach all the way to the end where the screw holes are! Can someone take a picture of their CST bedside panels showing where they are closest to meeting the tailgate? Either these panels just don't fit, or I'm missing a pretty big piece of trim! My side panels run from the rear door opening to the front edge of the rear "box pilar" in the rear corner of the bed. The pannels but up against the box pilar and are flush with them. The panels do not run all the way back to the tailgate weather stripping.

Those are originals in near pristine condition that I bought from board member Harry H. a couple of years ago. We met up at Carlisle, so no shipping was involved. Rick.

It looks like the backs are anchored to a piece of flat sheet steel which is screwed to the corner post right next to the tailgate? B |

They are the original sheet metal angle pieces - about 5/8" by 5/8 " sheet metal angles. One on the back post, two on the floor (behind and in front of the wheel well) and the three stand off brackets that are made of the same stock only flat stock. The stand offs and angles are attached to the inner sheet metal with self tapping metal screws from the factory - that way you don't hit the inside of the outer sheet metal with a drill.
