creampuff comes home.
Well the story goes......
I was talking with a guy at work and he has a 54 Chevy, shop talk stuff. He mentioned his brother just moved next to ranch and on the ranch was a pick up thought to be around the same year. I found out where his brother moved and took a drive. Found the fella that owned it took a look and scored this for 50 bucks. Its definately a 20 foot truck. The cowl is crushed in by a tree or something falling on it. All four corners are beat , the doors are beat, but lots of good stuff still there. She has a 235 , 3 spd, enclosed driveshaft, leveraction shocks, the pedals even move!! All the interior stuff was there , just sunbaked and rusty. Well enough with the small talk and on with the PICS.

Absolutely beautiful.
It would be great if all the doors and everything were still there -- I'd put a nice clear coat on it and leave it that "color!" |

Horvath
The old truck is complete with doors, it does count when they come home on the same trailer , doesnt it ? The only things missing are the glass, seat cushions, back bumper. Really I know it looks hoirrible but there is a ton of nice parts there. I needed the running board supports for my 49 as well as the seat sliders. Worth 50 bucks and a six pack all day long. My neighbors dont see the beauty of this one though. Oh well, Brother Bob

$50 is a GREAT buy, Brother Bob!
And I wasn't kidding about leaving it like that, either! There's something wonderful about the sight of an old Stovebolt out in a field ... and I really think it would be something special to maintain that old rusted out look, but in a refreshed (clear coat), renewed kind of way, you know? |
