Picked up a rusty Swb 69 or 70 parts truck

A friend on FB that I haven't seen since high school saw where I was selling my dad's restored 71 GMC and asked me if I was interested in another Swb truck. He said their was no title, the cab and clip were rusty but tha the bed was OK and had a newer tailgate that was nice. There is no spare tire cut out on the Ds. Dad went and looked at it for me and paid him his asking price ($200) (!) dad said it is rusty, 6 cyl 3ott and has an old under dash add on Ac with a big York compressor. He said he forgot to look if it had ps or Pb. I will be parting it on the parts board soon, but it 4 hrs away on the coast and I have to go pick it up first

I am also hoping for a 292 but probably not. Might as well wish for a 6 cyl tach dash too haha

That's crazy you got that for a couple hundred bucks. The steel the truck contains is worth more than that alone, and way more in individual parts or to fix up. People just don't do their homework before they get rid of these trucks. Their loss, our gain

thats a good deal on a swb the drag back home is the killer i guess.

I have a beat rusted franken 3/4 ton 70 with no engine or trans down the road i could drag home for 3 bills but I really dont think theres much meat on the bone too make it worth while. the rear axle in it was really the only good part left now if it were a swb.......

The seller is having Heath problems and didn't want the hassle of hauling it off himself and knew the local scrap yard wouldn't give him much more and they would just crush it. He wanted to at least see some of the truck live on as it was his uncles.

Dad said the odometer reads 39k... I wonder if it's 139k... Probably...

Soooo...stepside or wide?

EDIT, never mind, reread the "fender cutout" statement.
