5.3 or 6.0 with LMC blazer tank
I have put in a lot of research(all 38 pages here for one) and can't find a defiant answer on the gas tank answer.
I'm started my engine hunt/purchase and I'm leaning towards 5.3/6.0 but my question is can these motors be ran with the blazer tank from LMC. I purchased one awhile back still in the box unopened. So my question is can I use this tank if so what would I have to do to it? I've seen some say internal pump others say external pump, baffles/no baffles etc. I know this question has probably been asked eleventy billion times but I can't find anything that says do or don't. Yes you can use it just like it is, external pump/filters

I have a stock tank that I have decided to use with my swap for now until I can drop the $ for a Boyd tank. I have found a little how to that I will be using to install my pump in the tank. Also I found a picture that shows a blazer tank and the location the pump was mounted.

Take it from someone who knows, spend the $ and get a Boyd's tank, you'll be glad you did!

This is what I used with my stock blazer tank. Just make sure to install the ring over a flat area of the tank. If I had to do it over I would have also kept my old sending unit in place for the gauge. You can see some pics in my swap thread. If you use a newer truck module the bucket works as well as any baffle. Posted via Mobile Device |

I used a 86 25gal blazer tank/sending unit with an external whalbro pump, works awesome..

Carbs worked great for a long time, but fuel injection is better. It is so nice just to jump in and go and to know there won't be any problems. I don't know if you clicked on the link but it's a how to on installing an in tank pump on a blazer tank, the one you already own. For the price of a fuel pump you would be good to go and I just think you would be better off in the long run injected even if you do go supercharged or turbo.... which I agree do rock

I used a poly Blazer tank for a few years with mine till I saved up for a Boyd tank. I mainly did it for looks and it does look nice. I also wanted to get rid of the external pump for the internal. I think they might be better but the external one worked great.
I am happy with going EFI but I know seveal have been happy with carb. I would stick with the injection but that is me.
