My 67 C10
And so it begins.......
I found this truck online and it was only a couple of hours away. The previous owner lost interest and decided to sell it. After a few conversations and texts I was the new owner. The cab is very solid. It has new rockers installed but everything else is solid and will remain.... I hope. It had a wood floor bed but it was pretty rough and I wanted a steel floor. I picked up another truck for this bed and gave the truck to my Dad. Now we have a couple of Father and Son projects! I disassembled the bed. It was a little rougher than I expected it to be but too bad. After a little grinding and welding it doesn't look too bad! Coated the bottom side with Rust Encapsulator. It should last another 45 years!! |

Re: My 67 C10
I made a little more progress today.
My Dad and I got the cab and front end off of the frame today. I used 4 Harbor Freight furniture dollies to roll it around the garage. It's time to clean up the frame and order the suspension and brake parts. |

Re: My 67 C10
I had some presents when I got home today. The big brown truck dropped off my new rear fenders, rear roll pan and bed front panel. I should get to put my bed back together tomorrow. I ordered stake hole filler plates, gas filler and firewall fillers from Infanti machine. I should have those early next week.

Re: My 67 C10
I didn't make much progress today but I did get a little assistance from my son Ethan.
I applied rust converter to the inside of the bed sides and the hard to reach corners. I will coat them with rust encapsulator next and reassemble the bed. |

Re: My 67 C10
Removed the windshield and back glass today. I have some more rust repair around them and the drip rail but not too bad. I also flipped the cab up on it's back to inspect the underside. It is not too bad. The cab supports need a little attention.

Re: My 67 C10
I got my bed put back together. The wheel wells and front panel were too far gone so I replaced them with new metal. I am going to coat the inside with a liner after the truck is painted.

Re: My 67 C10
I picked up a low mileage 5.3/4L60E combo for my truck.
I also received my CPP components. In the pile is a 4.5/6 drop, front and rear swap bars, LS motor mounts and trans crossmember. |

Re: My 67 C10
I got the frame disassembled and ready for clean up. It will get a coating of rust encapsulator and satin black paint.
I had planned on getting this done today but the rear end fell and the chunck landed on my foot. That completed my activities for the day. Will find out if it is broken tomorrow! Last edited by bkkpool; 12-16-2012 at 05:18 PM. |

Re: My 67 C10
Good news, my foot is not broken but it is really bruised and swollen. Doctor said it will take a couple weeks for the swelling to go down. I should be back grinding on my frame by the weekend.

Re: My 67 C10
Glad the foot isn't broken. I had hell trying to get my trailing arms free of the rear axle. hopefully you have better luck.

Re: My 67 C10
I got the frame, trailing arms and control arms cleaned up, coated with rust encapsulator and painted satin black.
I'm waiting on upper control arm shafts and upper ball joints and I will have all of the parts to reassemble the front suspension. |

Re: My 67 C10
Got my new 3.3 lock to lock steering box painted and mounted. I got it from the local parts store for $126.
Also installed the lower ball joints. Received the wrong tie rod in the correct box. Should have the correct one in the morning. Still waiting on cross shafts. I could have the front end assembled if I didn't insist on Moog parts. |

Re: My 67 C10
Following this build very closely. I'm doing a very similar build, just lagging a couple of months behind you. That truck looks like it was in pretty good condition to start with!
