Junkyard Cruise Control - should I get it?

I saw this Cruise control set up on a 1972 chevy truck in the junkyard yesterday. I dont think it is factory but I am not an expert.

Would it be worth buying?

How much would you guys pay?

Is it all there from what you can see in the pictures?

Was there even a option for cruise control in 1972?

If it is worth picking up I may get it for my dads 1972. It won't work on my 1970 as it has a newer style transmition and no speedo cable.

It is an aftermarket unit. Might be worth getting if you get EVERYTHING. Plan on some sorting to get it to work.

What I have shown in the picture is all that is there. If there's any missing pieces they are gone. What would it be worth? Better yet what should I pay for it?

Here is a factory system from '70. Look at this and compare it to what you have, they appear very similar in function. As to value... free is great but for parts maybe 25. Remeber if the turn signal lever is a replacement to get the whole thing.

I would buy it. U never know! About $30-$35 I would say seeing how it's been sitting.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Junkyard Cruise Control - should I get it?

tim & 70cst both right - there was a factory cruise control option - but that's not it. If it works though, it's obviously already on a 72, so could probably be a fairly easy swap. Before ya start yankin everything off the truck - I'd take pics of placement and also make a wiring diagram so you know how to put humpty cruisy back together again.

It's something rare I'd get it, everything from lots of pic's any brackets to everything it hooks up to just to have. I'm sure you could find someone with interest if you do not have a need. Someone might want to reproduce it , my Blazer doors were use for reproduction purposes. Nick
