new roof for the 65
Found a good roof at a local wrecking yard. Not a big sunroof fan. So I got busy today and got the sunroof installed old roof replaced. Seemed like I drilled out about a million spot welds and they where off. Welded back in and seam sealed, evan added a little patina. Going to work on the inside in a couple of weeks.

Looks good. Do you have more pics close up of the seams? Did you fill the gutters?

Re: new roof for the 65
Good job! Looks much better without the sun roof. Was it hard to do? I found a 65 GMC with a big dent in the roof where the owner hit a tree branch. The price is right but the big dent keeps me from doing it.

Re: new roof for the 65
Not hard to do. Just lots of drilling out of spot welds. I had the wrecking yard cut the roof of through the posts. I cleaned out the old seem sealer with a small chissle than wire brushed the gutter. Made it easy to see the spot welds. Drilled out all the welds in the roof from the yard and the roof skin pulled right off. On my truck I cleaned out the gutter and just cut through the roof at the gutter. Top skin peeled right off. Leaving the spot welded flange in the gutter. Cleaned it up with a wire wheel on my drill, set the new skin on and welded it through the holes left from drilling the spot welds. Little seam sealer and it was good to go.
