Re: What type of transmission is this
That's an early Saginaw 3-speed, non-synchro 1st gear.

Do you know where I could find a rebuild kit for this unit?

Re: What type of transmission is this
I'm afraid I don't. I replaced mine with a later model Saginaw which is fully synchronized and much beefier. Had to convert to floor shift though, which was fairly expensive.

Re: What type of transmission is this
Its not a saginaw. Its a muncie mc318. Should be a non-synchronized 1st gear. Kits are still available through most transmission venders. Found this kit on ebay...just for example. The saginaws had a longer main case and shorter tail shaft. The number of bolts on the side cover are the big "giveaway".

Re: What type of transmission is this
Thanks for the help - I sent my pictures to Anaheim Gear and they confirmed the transmission is an early Muncie "light duty" - They have all the parts anyone would need to rebuild yourself or they will do the work for you.
