NOS 67-68 Trim - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I know this is short notice but trying to figure out a value before I go look at some parts tommorrow night. A local guy has some parts for sale and part of what he has is supposed to be all the side trim for a 67-68 SWB truck and the headlight bezels and grille hoops. They are all supposed to be in the packages and good condition. Is there anything I should look for? Does the packages damage the trim by sticking to it or anything. Is there a general price per piece or what for the whole set. I forgot to ask if it included the tailgate and hood trim. Does the side trim consist of 12 pieces? He has not put a price on it yet and just trying to get an idea before I go look. Thanks for any information.

12 pieces of trim usually around $300 to $400 for good quality aftermarket

In perfect NOS condition - just my opinion $500 to $1000 - any other ops out there ?

WIW is slim response anymore ?

Thanks for your opinion and advise. I am just trying to get an idea. I am really affraid of hidden damage when the packages are opened. I guess I will see what the packages look like and try to judge from there.

You are correct, the responses in this area are slow coming. Thanks again for your time and opinion.

I compare side trim to what Mar-K now sells.
Mar-K will sell you QUALITY repop trim that all matches for a reasonable price.
I've found NOS trim to not completely match, when you talk about installing all the pieces on the same truck.
(pieces with different amounts of shelf wear)
But there are people that definitely want NOS only.

However, I agree with Keith here & for a 67/68 I would use Mar-K everytime.

Thanks for the information guys. I went and I looked. He had evry trim part I think there is. He had the headlight trim bezels, grille hoods, hood trim, tailgate trim, side trim for a short bed, door seal plates, windshield and back glass trim. It was all in the GM packages but the packages are definatly showing their age. He is finally put a price tag of $1500.00 on the package deal and was not going to break it up. Well I did not bring it home but it was neat to look at. I did not look over the condition and check every part to see if it was there because after hearing the price I new I was not buying it. Thanks again

Well the quality Mar-k side trim is almost 600 dollars. I used this when I did mine 6 years ago and it is nice. However it did not include the hood, windows or tailgate trim. or any of the front end stuff (hoops and all) that will all add up. That is probably not a "bad" price if it has it all.
Some guys will jump all over OEM. I like what I have.
