A few have been installed by members here. Search "Hickey Sidewinder" in the forums and you'll get several hits. I know DirtyLarry put one in his 78 K10. He might have some pics or a manual showing the information you are looking for.

Re: wtb: Hickey winch brackets

Brian,
Did you ever find any or make some up for your winch? I may need them soon as well. I have the brackets for my other Hickey which is the old Ramsey style. I think they would make a good template to start from but none of the current holes line-up with the sidewinder, only where you mount to the frame.

Re: wtb: Hickey winch brackets

I haven't. I'm getting near mounting it. There's a guy near me that has one on his blazer with original mounts. Was going to run out there with a tape measure and a camera when I'm ready.

Re: wtb: Hickey winch brackets

ahh, please send/post copies if you do.

Not sure how I'm going to do this project, although after searching a bit here, I don't think I have to cut up my bumper as originally thought, which has been my biggest concern.

Re: wtb: Hickey winch brackets

just looking at your truck in your profile, is that the bumper you currently have? Is that what you will be mounting to?

Re: wtb: Hickey winch brackets

Brian, did you ever get info on the mounting for your hickey? I bought a sidewinder that came with mounting brackets front and rear, only the front fits, the rear is from some other vehicle. I need to know how the back of the sidewinder is supported. I've got the winch mounted just with the front bracket (supported with Jack stands) but for the life of me I can't figure a clean way of mounting something for the back. The darn spring mounts are in the way for just about anything I've thought of so far.

Searching the forum or google comes up with nothing as far as showing how the rear of the winch is supported.

Thanks

Re: wtb: Hickey winch brackets

No I have not. Still haven't seen a front bracket yet. I notice your in sac, I talked to Bill at vintage chevy awhile back. He says he has a blazer that has a hickey winch on it. Told me I could come by and take a look at it when I wanted. Might try that

Here's a pic of the brackets for my Sidewinder along with the Hickey push bar and skid plate.

Re: wtb: Hickey winch brackets

BLAZERMAN thank you for posting those pics. Have you actually had these items installed on your Blazer? Sorry, but I want to make sure these are it. My sidewinder came with brackets also, and I was told they were from a '72 blazer but the rear bracket sure doesn't fit up. It doesn't look like your rear bracket either.

If you've had it installed, do you have a pic of the rear bracket installed?

It looks to me that your rear bracket would go between the rails in front of the frame crossmember (under the radiator support). And the skid plate would sit on top of the hooks and support the winch? If that is correct, could you take some dimensions of the rear bracket?

Your help is greatly appreciated, I think your helping about three of us trying to get our sidewinders installed.

By the way my front support looks just like yours.

PS Brian, thanks for your quick reply yesterday.

Re: wtb: Hickey winch brackets

I haven't had my Sidewinder installed on a truck yet but these did come off a 69 K-10 truck. i have the mounts somewhere in my storage shed right now but when Im in there next time I can dig them out for some measurements. If it helps I think I have a couple more pics of a different angle.
