Arrow Another Cool CL find for Western Washingon folks! 1956 Chevy school bus

Found this on Craigslist last night. I have not seen too many "shorty" buses of this style. This thing would be awesome to restore or make into a hot-rod. I love the look of the old chevy "shorty" buses. Price is reasonable too!

That would be so kewl to have as a mascot for our bus company. Too bad I couldn't convince them to pay to get it to the east coast.

It would be even more interesting if it were equipped with a nailhead Buick engine.

That looks like fun if it isn't rusted out on all of the seams. The wife would beat me to death if I drug home another project right now though.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Beat you w/ the flip-out "School Bus" sign?

I picture that bus at a drag strip with the front tires high in the air!

I picture it at a drag strip with a trailer in tow with a drag truck riding on it. Cad 500 or Duramax under the hood of the 56 and the interior done up to seat several people comfortably with a couch across the back that turns into a decent bed but doesn't make the bus look like a cheezy rv conversion. More like what you would want for a party rig to haul all of your buddies out to dinner at a truck show.
