73-87 SWB Fleetside bed and tailgate
I have a nice short fleet bed that has been in the barn for 15-20 years. I don't think I will ever get around to using it. If interested I will pull it out for pics. It is off an '83 Silverado and has the doors for dual tanks. That makes it technically correct for '79-'87 but it will fit all from '73 up.
I have a super nice tailgate off an '80 Chevrolet fleet side it does not have holes for a trim panel since it was from a custom deluxe truck. These prices are less than the cost of aftermarket sheet metal and they are nice GM metal. These are local pickup items due to the size alone. If interested pm me and post here so I don't miss your posting. $600 Frank Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 73-87 SWB Fletside bed and tailgate
Here are a couple cell phone pics.there is a little surface rust on it in places but there are no rust holes in this bed. There are holes along the top because it had rails and a tool box at one time. I have owned this since about 1993. It's been in my barn for 15-18 years. Time flies .

Washed it and left it wet to show that it is straight.

Re: 73-87 SWB Fletside bed and tailgate
Bed looks good. The parts alone to fix what we have definitely make this a good choice. Let me talk it over with Korbin to see what we want to do. I also ended up with a good step side bed for free, just need a tailgate for it.
I'll let you know soon.

I read the post about the free step side bed. It would definitely free up some funds for the rest of the build to use the stepper. It would be much easier to raise the floor and this bed is so nice it would be a shame to cut it. Frank Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 73-87 SWB Fletside bed and tailgate
No Sir.
I do travel up there but I know I won't be there when you are traveling through. How much trailer space do you have to haul things back with you? Frank Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 73-87 SWB Fletside bed and tailgate
Well it just depends how much stuff I buy... got 2 trailers one 18ft car hauler and a 25ft deckover. I have a paying load (which can go on either trailer, the 25fter is twice the trailer...lol) to deliver to Dallas and a driver that needs to get back to go on vacation. I really don't know if he can swing the extra couple hrs of drive time. I keep hoping for a good parts truck, but may take what I can get...I have pushed off the load from saturday to wednesday, but the drive has to be back thursday to leave on vacation.

Re: 73-87 SWB Fletside bed and tailgate
Of course this comes up after I sold my truck. I was half way looking for a clean bed, too. Heck of a deal, though.

Re: 73-87 SWB Fletside bed and tailgate
Buy the bed so will have it when you find a truck.
I am going to try to sell off a few things to raise funds for the air ride controller . I am going to have to put a few things on eBay after it slows down around here. We have to show animals in San Antonio this week and next then it slows down for a month before the next show. Fun Frank Posted via Mobile Device

Yes sir it's still here. I am staying firm on it. So I think it has ran a couple potential local buyers off.
