Re: ww2 and bomber style trucks

That truck was built by a member on this forum. He has built multiple 50,000$ plus C10s. If you go into the build thread he is currently working on one called Tootsie.

He is referring to the style of the build, not that the manufacture date. I think it's pretty cool the way superfly incorporated assembly methods from the era. Made for a pretty unique /awesome truck.

I can tell you I knew when I built the truck it was not of the era. But I was building something that had not been done before. If you look at my builds you will see I don't copy people's ideas. I like to think I have my own style. Just my two cents. Not trying to get into a pissing contest. The second chance truck was ether loved or hated but it won street truck of the year and I was told it sold more magazines in 2010 for street trucks then any other cover truck. So most people appreciated the work that was in the truck.

I loved it! It's a very unique truck, something that is becoming harder and harder to accomplish with these trucks.

Don't worry about cdowns that's the way he is, he's still trying to figure out how to protect one of these trucks from a hurricane, and heaven forbid you use rubber fuel lines he will run you over the coals for that

I like your style. Our hobby could be boring if there were just one idealistic vision that everyone followed.

Props to you man. I just went through a&p school, and from experience, buckin rivets isnt easy so im thoroughly impressed. Ive been working on a c47, so ive got ideas for a ratrod with rows of rivets or ive thought about building switch panels and gauges in my truck for aviation themed. Including an oh-58 cyclic as a shift handle.

Re: ww2 and bomber style trucks

I always thought airplane trucks looked cool. My problem is a bomber is slowing my truck build. I am building a 16 foot RC B-17 for a customer in mn. I had to put the truck build on hold to complete the bomber(paying job).

Board member MOTOIMPAIRED built a killer military themed truck, here is a link to his build thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=486223

Don't know what I did wrong but I can't get the link to work???

Re: ww2 and bomber style trucks

Ya, Its not all bad but I have logged 1400 hours on it in the last september. I still have 3 or 4 months months to go. I would rather be working on my 70. I did forget to mention that I do work a 50 hour a week job before the bomber and the truck. my wife is very understanding.
