Barn Find - 46 complete truck - need advice!
I stumbled on a 1946 Chevy today (sorry no pics). It appears to be all original and is complete. It has some rust but just enough to look cool. It is 6 cyc. It runs and drives! needs brake lines but he said "we could drive it around the block and use the emergency brake!" I like it but I am not as familiar with this pre 47 trucks so here are my questions:
1 - Whats it worth - I know its hard without pics and yes I know it worth what I would pay for it - but give me an idea. 2. What should I look for when I go back to see it? 3. Am I over my head? I want to keep it simple, get it rolling good, running and stopping. Then drop it and drive it! Are these era trucks pretty straight forward? |

1st Value is what your willing to pay, but the way you explained it $500-$2,500. the good , the bad you still have to go through the btakes fuel lines etc.
2nd For me rust around the cab corners, lower doors, i'm no body man, but all is fixable. 3rd Over your head definetly not. It runs & steers, just need to get it to stop. I would drop & drive as is, Then when your ready or when $ allows you upgrade. JMO If you get it for a good price do it, Remember we love pictures |

Re: Barn Find - 46 complete truck - need advice!
This is a 1950 GMC truck with 56 Chevy engine and 4 on floor. I modified dash and got engine running. My brother-in-law found this in farm pasture in TX standing for 5 years since last work was done. I bought it for $800. Still not sure how much I want to put into restoring it so it drives and is cleaned up a bit
