front calipers
hey, im new to the form
I was wondering if anyone knows if you can take the front brake calipers from an 88-98 gmc will fit on the front end of a 71 thanks -Andrew |

They are different in size and shape. Now there are some uses for that stuff on our trucks but it involves a 68 lower control arm and the spindle from a light duty 3/4 ton from the 88/98 truck. Then the ball joint needed to put the late spindle on the 67-70 truck will come from the late truck and then with the late model ball joints fitted into the control arms 1/2 ton uppers 67-70 and 3/4 ton lowers 68 model [others may as well 67-70?] the late model 6 lug disc brakes will basicly bolt onto the 67-70 model truck. Now as far as the tie rods go I don't recall what is done there weather but I think you use both the inner and outer from the 88-98 3/4 ton on the old truck and the inner fits into the drag link properly. That is the only use of the newer 88-98 truck front end stuff in the 67-72 trucks that I am aware of. Jim
