Blue dashboard shade replacement question

My stock interior has a dark navy blue dash pad and door panels. My dash is cracked and needs to be replaced, but when I look online at replacement dash pads, they look like a much lighter shade of blue. I want to stick with the same dark shade.

Has anybody had experience with buying a blue replacement pad? What shade is it?

That's the 1969' dark blue interior color. Not reproduced. Trevor

There is a company, I forget the name, that offered both the more common light blue dash pad and a dark blue one. I'm not sure if its the same as the 69 only dark blue or not. Your only other option would be to buy a repop and vinyl dye it dark blue.

Good idea. They make some pretty good vinyl spray paint

Re: Blue dashboard shade replacement question

You can have vinyl dye mixed in a spray can to match exactly. Just take it to your closest/favorite automotive paint supplier. They'll scan it and mix you some up.

There is a member that recovers dash pads in leather with a french seam. Not exactly correct but beautiful work. Now only if he sold maching seatcovers. Need to search the classified but he is there.

Thanks. I know who you're talking about. Might be a lil fancy for my truck though, but it's nice to have the option

Re: Blue dashboard shade replacement question

Paint it, it's pretty easy. About a yr ago I got tired of everything inside being a slightly different color, so I painted everything the same. Came out great, it's been over a yr and its holding up perfect. The prep is the most important part. I used sems vinyl prep products.
