Shift Linkage help...
Trying to find a solution for the shift linkage/cable for my set up...
PB DM, with a 5.3/4l60e combo - 77SWB. What are you guys typically running? It seems the lokar shift linkage kit won't clear the firewall due to the motor being raised, and the lokar cable kit is just an odd fit causing one of the brackets to hit the brake booster Do I need to make my own linkage?

Re: Shift Linkage help...
Question, why can you not use the stock location and linkage and not a cable

Re: Shift Linkage help...
The stock location should work, and possibly the stock cable, but I don't have the stock cable. It was trashed when I bought the truck.
The cable I have is from Lokar, and it would work, but the brackets they use cause interference with my brake booster (Smaller brake booster). And the cable comes up by the driver's tire, where my tubs will be going. I'm just not satisfied with the look of it... I found the lokar linkage (rod), not cable, and will try that out when it gets here. Sounds like that is what some guys are using.

Re: Shift Linkage help...
Is the linkage a solid rod or cable?

Re: Shift Linkage help...
It's a solid rod, stainless steel.

Re: Shift Linkage help...
I was hoping this would work from me but it appears it is unlikely a rod is going to work; just not enough room. Has anyone tried the Lokar column cable shift linkage? I wasn't 100% sure if the brackets would work on the steering column.
Thanks,
