question about front bump stops
I recently had my truck dropped. its sitting on the bump stops now and rides like a pig. I want to know if there are shorter bump stops I can put in the front or do I have to cut em off? I just bought air shocks for the back and am about to order short bump stop for the rear. just need the front sorted.

Re: question about front bump stops
You can just cut the bumpstop mounts off the lower control arms. After you do that you can add these where the mount used to be and basically have close to the same suspension travel as stock providing you only did a 2in spring drop.

Re: question about front bump stops
No bumpstops on mine, front is dropped with 2 cut coils and she rides real nice, and you will need drop shocks on the front

Re: question about front bump stops
You dont need drop shocks, stock will work fine. The top of the tire will bottom out on the inner fender and your control arms will hit the pavement before you bottom out the stock shocks.

Re: question about front bump stops
All you need to do is make sure your shock doesn't bottom out

Re: question about front bump stops
When you lower a vehicle improperly you wil get bad results like this. Might want to think about a smaller diameter front tire too.

Re: question about front bump stops
So is this a good idea or no? I didn't even think about the steering thing Cory mentioned. And I already ordered those bump stops last night

Re: question about front bump stops
You will be fine. People have been cutting off the bump stop brackets for years. There isnt any need to crank your wheels so tight around a corner that it would bind. The after market bumpstops will workout nice.

Re: question about front bump stops
with one coil you should be sitting on it. 1.5 cut you get you close to touching or touching. i would just pull the rubber bump stop off.

Re: question about front bump stops
Does the bump stop bracket do anything for reinforcing the lower control arm. When you cut that off does it have any affect or is it fine?

The bumpstop mount does nothing to reinforce the lower control arm, its just a 3 sided tower tacked in place to hold the rubber bumpstop.
