Blazer tank mods.

I am wanting to do the Blazer tank swap for a couple of reasons.

1. My stock tanks are messed up, and not long for the world. Plus if I have to spend money.

2. I am investigating the idea of a truck arm swap.

I can get new tanks, and straps for less then $200 with out looking. The 25 gallon tank hangs to low for me. As I know me, and I will likely slam this truck sooner or later. Then I could mod one of my sending units for practice, and if it works just use it.

Has anyone ever cut down the height of a blazer tank to tuck up better in the frame rails? So If I take 3 inches out of the tank I still have 17-17.5 gallons for driving. Which is good enough for my needs, and I have a few 5 gallon cans if I want to extend my range.
