Steering stops
So long story short, I accidentally cut out the steering stops along with the bump stops. Basically hacked the whole piece out flush. The control arms are now smooth from the springs to the ball joints. I did this because my truck is low and the bumpstops were already riding on the frame. I didn't think about the steering stops until it was too late.
My question is, is it okay to use the stops in the steering box itself or will I damage something? FYI, I converted to power steering using Captainfab's super awesome bracket and am running a box out of an '80s C10. |

Re: Steering stops
I made the same change to my lower control arms and I have to wonder if I need a piece of angle or some sort of stop there myself.
I bought the ES biscuit snubbers for the rear notch and grabbed a second pair in case I needed something here too. My buddy drilled my old stuff off so I could re-use it / modify it if needed. Looks clean without them though. rg |
