water outlet angle?

Wanting to get rid of this old crusty looking one and order a nice chrome or polished one. Curious if you guys think it's 15 or 45 degree angle? I have never been good with math and don't want to order the wrong one... lol

Thanks.

I'm gunna say that yours is 15 degree a 45 would be at a steeper angle

Re: water outlet angle?

45 would be steeper 45 is half of a 90 so you can get an idea how steep that is to 15 degrees

Re: water outlet angle?

The majority of the aftermarket chrome water necks will corrode and leak at the point where the gasket goes. The cheaper pot metal in them, since most are from another sourcing outlet, like Taiwan, tends to corrode with the water/antifreeze mix that we have in our engines. I finally got smart and put on a billet water neck with a good o-ring seal and wsolved my leaking issues.

Didnt even think about the cheap ones causing problems! I usually try to buy made in USA if I can anyways. Looks like I will save up a lil longer and order the billet specialties one.

x2. I would clean up and paint the one you have. Since the rest of your engine is painted cast iron, I think a "bling" one would look out of place. Just my opinion.

Re: water outlet angle?

I have a swivel thermo housing, I think it came from Summit. Real convenient, and it's a few years old and isn't corroding... yet.

Re: water outlet angle?

Fel-Pro makes a nice gasket that will not leak when you re-install.
