Lokar shifter too short?
Let me recap a little info first. I bought an 86 c10 with the 6.0 4l80e already installed and running...I stripped it all and put it in my truck. They had the motor in wrong with the adapter plates on the wrong sides of the truck so they moved the motor mounts back instead of finding the problem. Now that I have it correctly mounted in my truck, I ran into a problem with the shift linkage yesterday. I have the Lokar shift linkage that they had in the truck. It was hooked up in that truck but now in mine, it is too short and appear to be running right through where the exhaust will be going to the headers.
I am running the Dough Thorley headers and it is a 6.0 4l80e. My questions is...what do I need to do? I don't know if they shortened the rod on the linkage or if it even came with the rod to begin with from Lokar. I don't have a close picture of the linkage but I can try to get one later....there are current pictures on my build thread on page 3 if that helps. What are you guys using? I'm just a little confused here. Thanks!

Re: Lokar shifter too short?
Maybe they put the engine in the spot they did so the linkage would clear the exhaust?
