Flywheel question

I recently picked up a 67 k20 with a 4 speed and a Rockwell t case.
No motor in it so I found a flywheel from a 78 Chevy k20
Will this work for my 327 v8? I'm trying to get her rolling soon!

Re: Flywheel question

It would work if it's not from a 400. Make sure there aren't any external weights on the flywheel, as that is the dead giveaway for a 400 crank.

Re: Flywheel question

There are no weights on the flywheel so I should be good to
Go! Thanks! How about the older small blocks without the weird
counter weight on the back of the crank? Are those flywheels different?

Re: Flywheel question

Weird counterweight? Do you mean the actual flange where the flywheel bolts on?
Yes, they are different shapes, but the bolt pattern is the same

Re: Flywheel question

no factory 400 manual trucks. I built one and as said before they are wieghted. If you are still around the motor you can look at the balancer. It has a groove cut in the edge to balance it. Regular small block on a 400 equals a rebuild from engine balance being off. I learned the hard way when I was a kid.
