Lets see how your exhaust is run.

I am looking ahead in the build and starting to look at pypes exhaust. Right now my thoughts with the exhaust focus on the trans crossmember. I way mine was run on the short bed was one side exhaust ran under the crossmember and the other side ran over. If I go with a x-pipe then I would rather run up and over the crossmember. I am not sure if that can be done with the stock crossmember. I haven't looked into it that much yet. But if you have any photos of how yours is run by the crossmember. I will be running full length headers, 2.5" pipe possibly with x-pipe and pypesor magnaflow mufflers.

Re: Lets see how your exhaust is run.

I have a pypes x pipe with one over one under full length headers. I jus bought the universal kit and welded it myself along with a U mandrel bend that I used to make the s bend over the crossmember on the drivers side.

I used the clamps to get everything in place and held together. Then pulled it off as one piece and welded it up

I like pypes stuff family's been using it for years great value and some decent metal

With the x-pipe I am not sure I like it one over and one under and being fully welded. If I need to take the crossmember down I don't want to have to mess with exhaust. Is there not a way to run them both either on top of or below crossmember the x-pipe.

Re: Lets see how your exhaust is run.

Someone posted a link to an aftermarket tubular crossmember once. It looked nice but I don't recall if it made room for a straight shot out of the headers.

Thanks John. That looks pretty simple. The frame is boxed there on his truck, but with it being straight across I don't see why you couldn't make the same thing at home. Just have to be careful to set the angle right, but straight across would be easy.

Long tubes exit to close to both go over. However the crossmember doesn't interfere with the way it mounts. You can simply slide it out from over the exhaust

You can however take cut two Halfs of two cross remembers and make a double hump one.
I will get a pic as soon as possible
