front air dam for 73-80 c10
I was just browsing some pics and came upon some pics of some 73-80 truck with air dams. I always liked how they looked and want to get one for my 74. LMC has some but they're only for 81-87. Anyone know if those will work or is there some other place where I can get 'em?

Re: front air dam for 73-80 c10
the ones you posted look like 81-87's put on 73-80 trucks. The correct one should just be pretty much straight across and placed further back. They had 2 versions, first was a 3 piece and 2cnd design was one piece. I bought a NOS one piece from ebay for my 76 and I like it.
heres another members truck with the factory airdam

Re: front air dam for 73-80 c10
That looks like a 6" Air dam for a 81-87. LMC has a 4" stock one which I just installed with little effort or there was a wider one 6" I beliieve.

Re: front air dam for 73-80 c10
Has anyone tried putting on a front bumper from an 81-87 onto a 73-80 model truck? I like the look of the bumpers and air dams on the later model but not sure if anyone has done it? My front bumper is damaged anyway so im up for a front bumper no matter what. Pics amd details would be great. Thanks

Re: front air dam for 73-80 c10
Don't know how I missed this but that's my truck in the first post an first picture. Yes that's a 81+ air dam. All you do is line it up on the bumper, mark an drill the holes through the bumper an then bolt it on. I also had to trim around the bumper guards on mine. It really wasn't that hard at all....

Re: front air dam for 73-80 c10
Here's a nos 73-80 for $475.00!!
I would rather give lmc 40 bucks for the later model and make it work. Some people carry this new old stock way too far in my opinion. Ebay Link |

Re: front air dam for 73-80 c10
sorry to bring up this old thread, but could somebody show me how he mounted it under this older style bumper. I looked under mine and there is no "meat" except for two original mounting holes to mount to
