67-68 3/4 ton caps ,clip wheels

Have a few questions on the 67-68 3/4 ton hub caps for the clip wheels.

The 3/4 caps I just bought from a member don't fit the wheels , I have other 3/4 caps that do fit. So my question was there different 3/4 wheels for different caps. The wheels I have 16.5 GM stamped into the wheel. If you look how the back side they are different.

Her are some pics of the caps I just bought. They slide around on the wheel.

My gmc snaps into the clips.

Re: 67-68 3/4 ton caps ,clip wheels

I add to the thread that my wheels I have are 16.5 8lug, if the 16.5 6lug and 16" have or used different style clips / wheel centers that's what we need to know.

So anybody that have 16.5 6lug and 16" wheels please post pics and measure the clips. What about the 17" Wheels any info would be great.

Thanks

Re: 67-68 3/4 ton caps ,clip wheels

Back when 1/2 tons had clip-type hubcaps,I assumed they were the same size, but I bet that's the difference. We need to know if there were any 1/2t clip-type hubcaps still made in 67/68 for an optional wheel size, like 16s or 16.5s

Yes, 1/2 ton hubcaps came with two different backs, one for clip style rims and one for bump style rims up to 1968. 3/4 ton hubcaps came only with the clip style up to 1968. The clip style 1/2 ton and clip style 3/4 ton both have the back side inner ring, but the 1/2 ton measures 7 5/8 while the 3/4 ton measures 8 3/4". It appears the four caps in the top photo are for 1/2 tons with clip style rims. The 2 below are for 3/4 tons with clip style rims.

Re: 67-68 3/4 ton caps ,clip wheels

There is a set on ebay with a part # 3894206, does anybody have a parts book saying what they fit? These are the same caps in my 1st pic that don't fit the 16.5 wheels.

This hubcap is for the rare 17.5" 6 lug clip style rim.
