4 speed OTT
New and still learning, but was wondering if anyone had ever placed a 4 speed in a truck and kept the column shift. Seems you could have all forward gears on the column, then fab a reverse shifter lever on the floor. Hidden by the seat. The muncie looks like the same physical size as the three speed. Any issues? Has this been done?

Re: 4 speed OTT
I am not sure if it has been done and not sure why you would want to, but to each their own I guess. The linkage does once lubed and properly adjusted workvery well for the 3 so I guess it could be done but I would not do anything that could not be corrected or changed back back easily

Re: 4 speed OTT
this is what i'm planing/doing. so far the 4spd bolts in with no problems I useing a saginaw w/no grooves on the input behind a very mild 454.I'm definitly not doing this too race or beat on it it will just be a gas sucking cool cruizer
I gotta get some of the offset shift levers off a sag 3 spd (the kind that bolts too the shift forks not the kind that clamps on)these should give me the off set spaceing for the shift rods too the colum on too the reverse well this is something i've been running through and through cause i'm keeping my interior as factory appearing as possible one thought was 1. small lever between buddy seats 2.a atv brake/clutch locking lever an cable(mounted underneth too the buddy frame) 3.a power door lock selinoid custom mounted on the trans with a button somewhere in the cab 4.a floor mounted e brake handle from something(mounted under the seat) 5.useing the oe e brake handle and installing a later style e brake pedal 6.a throttle lock handle/cable from a big truck these are just some of the ideas ive been pondering but of course everyday i come up with something else

Re: 4 speed OTT
Someone posted about this about a month ago. They used a cable mounted in the dash for reverse and the column for forward gears.
