HELP. ID this Transmission

I got this engine and trans, and have no ides what transmission this is.
thanks for any help..

anyone know what trans this is?

i need to see the shape of the pan (bottom) then I can prob help with the id. also get some pictures of the side where all of the cables are.

is it aluminum, or cast iron?

first impression is an old powerglide

Cast iron powerglide. That adaptor from the tranny to the block is worth a few bucks.
100 to 150 bucks. Don't throw it away.

Geezer is correct.. if you take a wire brush to the top of the trans you will find the word "powerglide" cast into it

I have a dumb question on this,
why does that pg need a adapter too bolt too a sbc?
Is that a b.o.p pg?

only those old pg had that adapter.

BOP is Buick Olds Pontiac. They had a different shape/bolt pattern
