47-54 bed question.
I have a question about 47-54 chevy beds.
can anyone tell me what the measurement is from the center of the rear wheel to the edge of the bed (by the cab) is? My Dad and I are going to be making a crew cab and putting it on a new (1999-2007) 3/4ton 4x4 frame so we are trying to figure out what wheel base would work best either a suburban/avalanche or a crew cab silverado. thanks. |

Re: 47-54 bed question.
are you going with a long or shortbed? That will be your crucial part in deciding how long your frame needs to be

Re: 47-54 bed question.
Some rough measurements I took of mine before I tore it apart.
These are NOT exact.

Re: 47-54 bed question.
A lot of us had a fit over this truck when it was on Ebay a couple of years ago.
The proportions look pretty good from those angles. This one is spot on proportion wise from what I see. Except the bed needs to slide forward about an inch.

Re: 47-54 bed question.
That one is pretty sweet! but we want a 4 door. And kinda wanted to build it ourselves. See my Mom has been looking for a new crew cab she doesn't like driving her car in the winter, and all of us children are teenagers now. But every truck we look at is either to expensive or we don't like it. Plus Mom always wants one of these old trucks, since her and her brother bought one together when they were younger, and now that my uncle passed away we thought it would be nice to be running around in an old truck like he always did.
