how to connect 3 wire maf to 5 wire harness

I am starting another ls swap but have run into a snag. The harness I am using is for a truck it has 5 wires for the maf sensor. Ok I am trying to use a 3 wire maf from a car. Is there a way to adapt or rewire this sensor? Or do I need to get a 5 wire maf, even if the truck maf is larger?

You can use the 3 wire maf on the 5 wire harness, but if the 5 wire truck MAF is larger, why are you using the 3 wire? (based on what you said, thats how it sounded)

The difference is the IAT sensor, so if you want the 3 wire MAF you need to add-in the IAT sensor somewhere there in the intake path. The 5 wire MAF has it built in. I know PACE and some other places sell a conversion pigtail.

Take a look at a couple of these threads from ls1tech, there are some pinouts that might help ya.

Can you tell me more about the IAT sensor? Right now I have a ls6 intake and cable operated throttlebody. Do I have the IAT on this setup?

every ride has the IAT, it just depends whether or not its part of the MAF or wired in separately, if you have the IAT sensor by itself, it would be in the intake tube, not the manifold or throttle body.

car maf and iat
