Can I see pics of 73-87 SWB 4x4's on rallies?

I would like to see some short beds on rallies. They can be lifted or not. I am going to be building one after the C10 gets done. I would like to see what you guys got. Thanks.

33x12.5 w/3" Tuff Country lift kit. The lift kit was not needed to clear the tires.

I was 16 or 17 at the time and got it in my head that I needed a newer truck. I sold that truck for $4k just to get rid of it, then bought a 2000 silverado. That was nice, but nothing near as nice as that 86. It's not as perfect as it looks in that pic but it was one of the cleanest ones I'd seen in NY. It went to a guy in okeechobee, FL. That was 2005, never heard anything about the truck since. I regret it every day.

Wow man someone got a damn good deal, that truck was gorgeous!! I would drive all over the country to find one like that. I'm looking for one like it right now with a 9k budget but I haven't seen one that really gets me like yours did.

Re: Can I see pics of 73-87 SWB 4x4's on rallies?

Nice! I am going sunday to pick up a frame. I taking everything from my 85 K10 long bed and going to transfer it over to the swb frame. I pretty much have everything to make the swap except for a bed. I am on the hunt for one now but they are hard to find around here in good shape. Either they are rusted out or beat on really bad. Hopefully it won't take that long to put it together. It will probably look like parts from five different trucks thrown on there for a while.

Re: Can I see pics of 73-87 SWB 4x4's on rallies?

Here's mine. No lift and 31's. I used a combination of parts from a 2wd long bed, 4x4 swb frame and 3 Suburbans. I got the bed from another member on this forum. It was missing a fender, but I found one on Graigslist. She is a mutt!

Re: Can I see pics of 73-87 SWB 4x4's on rallies?

I am still trying to find a decent SWB around here. What I do find is in pretty bad shape. I was actually going to take my LWB and cut it down. That idea is on hold for now but may have to resort to that if I don't find anything worth buying.

Re: Can I see pics of 73-87 SWB 4x4's on rallies?

If I was gonna do it ( and keep in mind i wheel my truck) I would cut down a 1ton 4x4. Something like a CUCV would be perfect. If your gonna go through the work of cutting and welding a frame you might as well do it to the stronger frame. SB around here are all but gone due to rust. I can't remember I saw a SB 4x4 driving around.

Re: Can I see pics of 73-87 SWB 4x4's on rallies?

Yep, looks like 31/10.50s to me. That was the biggest option. They actually stretched 235/75s onto 8" rallyes on the '90 Blazer I had.

I always liked the square body shortbed Stepsides (longbed, too, of course). They seemed funky when they came out, with that flat squared off back wall sitting so wide, but that's what is so cool about them. Then, as it turns out they were the last of their kind, so multiply cool factor there!
