I might split if someone else would be interested in the dash.

I'll take the glove box door if it gets to me, or if it helps close the sale. Thanks.

Re: 1967 Dash gauge cluster and matching glovebox

I guess it wasnt packed right enough as a $5k diamond would be, but I tried.. Matt, PM sent, if you feel uncomfortable about the whole situation I will refund your money, it is just material stuff and some nickels and dimes, no worries.

Re: 1967 Dash gauge cluster and matching glovebox

ups and usps seem to know exactly how to crack these during shipment. i had 2 shipped to me this winter. both were wrapped well and both were damaged. one even had 3" of foam rubber on each end of the box.
a 73 gmc grill insert was all busted up as well.
the grill is going to be glued together and resprayed.

I worked for Fed Ex express (USPS contracts express and air with them by the way)and I can tell you those cans that board the plane are packed with freight and the packages are litteraly thrown from the sort belt to the can 8 ft. and I do mean thrown to make the flight once they arrive from the Postal service..........I am sure all carriers do the same.

I sure learned a lesson, If I ever ship another one of those I will make sure to wrap it extra careful an insure it.

Re: 1967 Dash gauge cluster and matching glovebox

Anything that can break when bent or impacted I pack in a rigid package with cushion. I use 1/4" plywood and 1 x 2 a lot. It's the lightest and cheapest way to add structure. I just sent N.O.S. '72 woodgrain door inserts in a cardboard box with 1/4" cardboard cut to fit the inside...that's it,no frame. They were packed with 1" white bead board foam and I replaced that with 3/4" Dow rigid foam sheathing. These were worth at least $500 and irreplaceable. It cost just under $25 to ship FedEx insured and they arrived perfect. I get so nervous shipping this good stuff. Never take for granted what a package might go through. A package should arrive in the same condition as if you had placed the part in the seller's hands from your hands.
