Factory Wheels for a 1971 GMC

I have a 1971 GMC 4x4 3/4 ton truck that does not have the factory wheels on it. What wheels came with this truck from the factory and does anyone have any pictures of the stock factory wheels they could post? Also, where would I find the factory wheels to buy? Thanks for your help everyone.

plain white steel 8 lug rims with hub caps. i found these pics on this site.

read this post on them, you may be able to use ford wheels, probably way easier to find than original ones, not sure you can, but worth checking out.

16.5 8 lug wheels were stock - many folks prefer to find a later 16" wheel off a 3.4 ton truck (pre-1988) and use them so they have a few more tire choices. The wheel lip is shaped a little differently, but for the most part, kinda hard to tell them apart. You can if they are side by side, but not easily when they are not. Pic 1 is 16" wheel, pic 2 and 3 are 16.5".

PICKMUP has a beautiful set of pc'ed wheels for sale at a great price. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=549386

Your truck's SPID would show any optional wheels or hubcaps. Probably had white wheels with white or chrome GMC logo hubcaps. The base size would be a 16.5x6" wheel with a 8.75-16.5C(6 ply) nylon tire. If the truck was built at Fremont there might be a build sheet in the seat that would list the wheels and hubcaps.

There's also a chance it may have come with 16" lock ring wheels. Even if you are able to find any, you don't want to run them..... too many problems, too much liability, almost nobody will work on them anymore.

It's relatively easy to find those 16.5x6 steel wheels. Any truck 71-87 K20 or K30 76-91 had them
