the way i did mine isn't work the way i wanted it to, so i was thinking of finding a metal pipe that would fit into the small hole on the tank, but also have the other end big enough for the nossle on the gas pump to fit into to eliminate the funnel thing gonnin' on.

Could i use copper or aluminum for the tubing?

Attached is a crapy paint drawing if you cant picture it.

would the copper plumming pipe carode because of the gas or would the green stuff get into the tank also?

and does the gas pump nosile fit directly into the filler neck on the 21 gal blazer poly tank?

Not sure about the metals and corrosion but how would you bend the tubing?
I would do some searching for the correct size gas filler hose and clamp it on. It is pliable enough to maneuver around under the bed whereas I wouldn't think you could do that very easily with any kind of hard material.
Just my couple of cents.

i'm not sure how to bend it but if i went with copper or whatever im sure i can find some angled fittings (especially if i use the tube they use for plumbing).

This site shows most copper alloys as being OK, but one as "not recommended." However, as others have mentioned, why not use the proper rubber hose? It will certainly bend better than any copper, doesn't require any tools to do so, and will be a fraction of the price of copper (in case you haven't priced it lately

).

Thanks for the site..

right now i have the 1.25 inch tube stuff. but the problem is that it is 1.25 " diameter all the way down until it reaches the tank. where the filler neck is 1.25 " on the outside and a lot norrower on the inside. so it acts as a funnel and it backs up real easily and it takes forever to fill it up. It also burps a lot.

i just want to try to eliminate the funnel action

maybe i just need more venting, but is still think that it will still back-up a lot.

Also the way i have it the length of the tube is pretty much parallel with the bed so there isn't much slope to it.

I am having the exact same problem. There is not enough room to come straight up into bed floor with a marine filler. I have seen it done but can't figure out how to do it.

I added a fitting to one of the "extra" holes in the tank and ran some fuel line up into the very top of the fender behind the wheel and capped it off with a cheapo breather filter. No more burping for me (well, that depends on what I eat

i already did that too. i think i should just try adding another one or just check if it is clear.

can you fill yours with the gas pump squezzed in all the way??
cause i have to squeze0 just it a little bit and the wait for it to drain into the tank

Before adding the vent, 15 minutes to fill. Now 5. It's still not NASCAR-speed, but it's not unreasonable. It used to be!

hi--i went to the junk yard and got a filler tube from a newer car
--they neck down to about the right size--i cut it in the middle and added a rubber hose to help line up the bends i needed--i have a stepside and used a filler ring from a chevy lumina van[plastic] no welding required--hook up my pipes which also had a vent tube--this helped my problem of slow fill
