Trouble codes after swap
Alright I finally got everything together and got the engine running and having some issues now. The engine will only run for probably 20 seconds at a time then shut off. There is no pedal/throttle at all, it will only idle.
Its a dbw setup and everything but the new harness has come off the same operating vehicle. Codes that it is throwing are p1125 fuel/air metering 1516 idle speed control 0107 lost comm. with throttle control module 0155 air fuel metering 0101 maf 0106 map 0155 02 sensor 0135 02 sensor Im not real impressed with the guy that did my wiring as I found a few simple mistakes that he did in the starter hookup/relay side. Its a rewired 04 sierra harness as is the engine is as well. It looks exactly like a painless wiring harness and color coded exactly the same as well if that helps. Do you think it could be the ecu bad or the throttle control module bad? I checked the power and ground going to it and they check out OK in the harness, and when plugged in you hear the throttle body flap open. Any ideas? Thanks, Adam |

The first couple dtc codes can indicate a mismatch between the sensors on the pedal. Check the tac wiring, then take a look and ohm out the sensors to see that you get a normal sweep. There could be a problem there, at the tac, or possibly at the wires on the tb. Since we don't know what he did inside the harness, I'd check the easy stuff first.

Had the U0107 code come up on a LS swap I just completed for a customer and it was a ground issue. I had the harness grounded correctly and battery grounded to motor but the motor needed to be grounded to the frame, and body to feame. Once I completed that and cleared code that issue never came back.

Did you get the VATS deleted off of the ECM?

Ok I checked the TAC module 5 volt reference circuits. The module plug is getting 12 volts from its pink to the black ground. The 5 volt reference circuits are not reading anything when I use the plugs black ground in it, as well as not reading when I use the chassis and engine as a ground. It will however read 5 volts when I use the negative side of my battery as a ground.
I would guess this is a ground issue. But..... I have my ground from the battery to the engine, and battery to the frame. The frame is grounded to the body, and the engine to the body. I even put a ground from the engine to the frame and the reference circuits are still not reading anything except when the battery is used as a ground on the multimeter. The vats were deleted from the computer. |
