72 C20 Upper Arm shaft question
All right, I'm replacing the shaft in the upper arms on my 72 C20, but I have a question. The new shafts are Moog units. I have one of them centered (I think) and installed in the a-arm, and torqued the bushings in to 90 lb-ft per the Moog instructions. One of the bushings bottomed on the side of the arm and the other bushing is still a ways out (see the pics). Is this OK? Does this mean I somehow don't have the shaft centered?

Re: 72 C20 Upper Arm shaft question
Doesn't look centered to me
I would back out the torqued side and work back and forth tighten each side a little at a time. Keep an eye on the gaps between the nuts and the a-arms.

Re: 72 C20 Upper Arm shaft question
Thanks. The more I thought about it after I posted the question, the more I figured it wasn't centered. I was trying to center it on the inside of the arms not on the outsides. I'll do it the way you recommend and I'm sure it'll work out better.
Thanks again.
