straight piped I6

How many are running straight pipes on their inlines?
And how many have just hacked the muffler off and called it good lol

I'm wanting to do something with mine but not sure of the best way to go for that throaty cackling sound

Would it be possible to achieve this with stock headers and no muffler or would she sound like garbage?

Re: straight piped I6

I think the straight pipes will be too much racket and sound like garbage.

I love the way this one sounds. dloe's stepside:

If you want the famous inline 6 cackle, you gotta split the manifold/exhaust and run 2" pipe out the back with glass packs.

Re: straight piped I6

on our old '66 GMC I ran the split Hedman Header w/ 2" pipes 45 degree bend out in front of left rear wheel(both on same side. Sounded pretty good to us! LOL

Sorry the truck is wrecked in pic- only one we had of the pipes
