New kid from ny
Hello all, my name is jeff and I'm interested in 67-92 trucks, but 73-87 more specifically. I got the interest from my dad, after his first truck. at 17, he ended up putting around 15 grand into an 83 gmc. He really used that truck for about 2 years before i was born, racin, muddin, you name it. it must have had around 10 different axles in it over that 2 years, ive heard many stories about it. I wont get my permit for about 7 months, but I am going to look at a truck(s) tomorrow. The one i'm interested in is a 79 chevy 3/4 ton, that my dad put together about 8-9 years ago, and sold to a guy nearby. the 350 burns oil, and its pretty rusted in the usual places. the other truck the guy has is a 75 chevy 3/4 ton. comes with extra parts in a little better shape, but mismatched colors. both have problems, but he asked for 900 on the 79, and 1500 on the 75. my dad thinks the pair arent worth 1500. If i dont end up with either one, my dad has enough parts to put about 3 trucks together. he has one complete 77? chevy that needs quite a bit to get running, and the other truck is just a tag with the title, as a 75 gmc. the frame is an 80 something, cab is an 82, box is a 79, etc. chassis has been put together since 2004-5. Not sure which way to go, put the "75 gmc" together from chassis up, or get the 79 and put money into it to be decent.
