1969 Blazer power steering conversion
I posted this over in the Blazer fourm but thought I try here to. I did a power steering conversion on my blazer. Everthing bolted up nicely and I have power steering now. The frame had the dimples where the gear box bolts up. Should I worry about too much stress in the area where the gear box bolts up causing my frame to crack or am I good to go?

Re: 1969 Blazer power steering conversion
No reason to worry. The factory power steering setup was engineered to work well without over stressing your frame. You just had the misfortune if having a truck that was stock with manual steering. Same frame was used for manual and power assist though.
Just keep the bolts tight and don't go too crazy with wide front tires. That goes beyond the factory engineering and can/will cause frame cracking. Posted via Mobile Device |
