5on5 to 5on4 3/4 swap question

i called weld racing wheel and the wheel im going with only comes in 5on4 3/4 so my question is is there a rotor out there that i can swap over to from a car camaro, impala, nova, monte carlo? i know most of the big body cars share the same spindles and some are 5on5.

i just dont want to have to redill my rotors and have the snout turned down everytime i have to replace a rotor.

Re: 5on5 to 5on4 3/4 swap question

I do know that the S10/Sonoma and Blazers/Jimmys also use that same bolt pattern. You could go to a junk yard and get one cheap and try it. I did this before but my Uncle is a Machinist and he took it to work and drilled them out? Good luck

Re: 5on5 to 5on4 3/4 swap question

I've heard the 73-87 light duty c10 spindles (for 1" truck rotors),... will accept a '91 Camaro 1le rotor that is the 5x4.75 pattern.
I have never done this myself.

Your truck could be either.
Wilwood D52s can be purchased for either width rotors.

Re: 5on5 to 5on4 3/4 swap question

Just take the axles to a machine shop and have them drill them. It really isn't a big deal for a shop with the right equipment. I have a friend that is a machinist and he just drilled his axles for whatever bolt pattern wheels he wanted.

Re: 5on5 to 5on4 3/4 swap question

Im going to have a set of stronger axles made with the car wheel pattern. While Im there Im doing away with the C-clips and having new ends put on my housing..

But i did check my rotors are the 1 inch thick ones.. So all i have to get it a set of 91 camero rotors and that's it. Do i need the camero bearings or will the truck ones work?

Re: 5on5 to 5on4 3/4 swap question

The truck bearings will work,... but I would get new ones.

Just remember to get '91-92 Camaro 1LE optioned rotors.
(the 1991 Camaros were offered with the 1LE rotors mid year)

These rotors are different than the standard 82-92 camaro rotors.
