support bracket has a twist, is that ok
So I have some time to take the blazer down and am planning some improvements. I am replacing the radiator and when I removed the old one I noticed this front support bracket has a serious twist in it. I assume it is not supposed to be that way. The question is, is it OK or do I need to replace it? Thank you for you insight.

What do the frame rails look like? That is not really a good thing and with a twist like that, something else has to be bent or twisted with it. It may not cause a driving issue but you do have spring mounts up there.
How is the front bumper alignment? That is a serious twist there. Can you post some pictures of the frame rails also? |

The frame is in good shape. After Tbone's post I went and looked a little closer and realized that pax side was missing the support brace which allowed the x-member to slide forward which caused the twist. My plan is to remove the twisted piece and bolt in a new one. Thx.

It is an awesome war machine!! Hard to complain about firing 30MM shells everyday. You got to love the smell of gun powder though!!

very, very effective. Of course range is a factor so you need to get in close but they did it right when they built that gun. RX will scare the &%$! out of you if your on the ground but ineffective against anything armoured. Mavericks are good but the gun is the go-to weapon against anything moving.

Looks like some damage occurred on the passenger side. The drivers side half is what it is supposed to look like. Looks like a little wave in the frame rail on passenger side too.
I have my doubts you would be able to fit a replacement piece in there with out correcting something else. If you are putting some effort into the rest of the truck I would suggest getting the frame back to the way it should be.
