Re: Bed liner
In a few weeks I'm about to try that DIY spray in stuff. My cousin used the the roll on stuff, and it seems very tough and seems to be a good quality product. However, its a little... inconsistent. There seems to be these little lumps here and there at random intervals. That's why I'm going to use the spray in stuff. They sell it at oriellys for about $110 for everything you need.
VS $400 to have someone else do it. |

Re: Bed liner
I had line-x which is great if your going to use it like a truck a lot. It cost around $600 out the door on my 07 GMC.
Raptor liner has a good rep online, and from one guy I finally meet who did his own. If your going to use your truck alot like a truck it might show it's weakness. I will use Raptor on mine since I plan to make my truck a glorified car, and it will hold up fine for what I will use it for. |

Re: Bed liner
I have a Line-x liner in my 1986. Seems to be quite nice so far, but I don't exactly use the truck a lot and the liner isn't even a year old yet.

Re: Bed liner
Wrong year but here is my Herculiner truck.
If you want it dull looking like mine don't use the UV protectant. If you want it shiny you HAVE to use the UV protectant or it won't stay that way. The rubber is all at the bottom of the can so you Must mix it thoroughly to avoid clumps.I used a piece of rebar as it is really hard to stir with all that rubber on the bottom of the gallon cans.Once you get it started it smooths right out. I am not done yet with the grille just seeing how it adheres to the chrome. You can not use a paint shaker to stir it up or it will be full of bubbles!!!!! The UV protectant does NOT come in the kit so if you want it shiny add another $30 to the price. |

Re: Bed liner
I think I'm leaning towards the raptor kit. there seems to be pretty good reviews online and seems easy after watching a few videos on youtube only thing is you need a good size compressor.
the kits are going for 120 compared to the 500 for line x.

Re: Bed liner
Line x is for sure a great product. I did a 2 part self spray, gator liner on my last truck, not nearly as good as line x. It is harder and way more prone to chipping. Hindsight I would drop the dime and line x.

Re: Bed liner
I used raptor liner on the firewall and inside of the hood on the wife's truck and i am very happy with it. Sand or scuff, prime and spray.
inside of hood, firewall

Re: Bed liner
Yeah but does that stuff actually work to reduce heat and sound in the cab?

Re: Bed liner
I'll have to call one of my local line x dealers. I have a shortbed and don't want the rails done. so if its in the $300 range that works for me.
