LMC seat belt

I recently got my replacement seatbelt from lmc, and it doesnt fit. the entire mechanism is different and i cant figure it out, and help?

my old seat belt wouldnt retract too well, and when you pulled it fast it wouldnt stop, so it really was useless. any tips on how to fix that and ill send the lmc one back.

thanks

Re: LMC seat belt

They are generic replacements. They are all made by a company called Beams Industries. http://www.seatbelts.net/products/ws...p?list=4&pic=a

The PO had them on my truck when I purchased it and they did not work. After messing with them I realized they had to be mounted so the belt extracts upwards. The key was that they did not use the installation kit.

The kit has some simple 90 degree elbows to mount to the belt to change the angle. I was going to fab something up but the kit was only $6. https://www.seatbeltplanet.com/seatb...cts/28/view/26

After I changed the mounts they worked. I have since purchased original GM ones as I changed the interior color.

Has anyone here used this service, and could provide feedback and maybe the price you paid for the service? Seems like most restoration houses sell generic belts, I'd like a product that is identical to the originals.

Any idea what something like that would cost? I may use that as an option for changing my belt color from maroon to dark blue.
