I believe that's an HO52 Scott - but would wait for someone else to verify. I'm more a Dana 60 guy in the 3/4 tonners. It's not a Dana.

I have heard some bad things about the ho52. True? Mine seemed ok on the highway so must have some decent gears in it

I don't know of any problems other than it's hard to get brake drums and hardware or them

The Eaton axles have a good reputation for strength. Drawbacks are some of the bearings are REALLY expensive if you have to rebuild and the availabiltiy of replacement gearsets is almost non-existent. At one time there was an aftermarket run of 3.90 but 4.10 are the lowest common ratio while 4.57 are probably most common.
