Where to get heater control cable clips

I just broke one of the little round retainer clips when I was working on the heater control assembly in my truck - can I get those little clips without having to buy a rebuild kit?

not sure where to get some originals, but I have had success with cable clamps....like these:

ok, like those only the metal ones....the ones that I cant seem to find now...but you get the idea

most of the venders here sell them i believe . i also have seen them in the LMC catalog . i got my heater controls from them to rebuild mine..

Are you are referring to the round retainer clips that push over the stud of the control levers and secure the cable loop?

I got some at the local hardware store. Brought in a broken lever to match the size of the stud. Small ($) change at your Sears, Ace, or Tru-Value. Grab a spare or two, you'll drop one or lose one.

it is really worth the time to go to the hardware store and look thru the parts bins and see what is available for future projects/// good way to pass a rainy afternoon

The original part number is: 381700 available through many Camaro resto compaines and all over Ebay

New metric part number: 11501937 available at any GM dealer

Or at a hardware store look for 5/32 push nuts or the metricized version 4mm push nuts

Tip for removal, so you won't need to find parts(unless one gets away from you). Take a small 90 degree o-ring tool or hook and stick the tip under the nut and work it off at 180 degree intervals, 90 if you have to..but just putting it behind one side and the other always works for me. You are just pushing the "fingers" that grab the stud a little at a time. Takes less than a minute, but watch out cause they'll fly off at the top if you're not careful. Another tip...use some tape or put your finger on top of the stud to keep the clip from disappearing into the atmosphere, don't ask how I know. If you do loose one they usually have kits in the ididit section at the auto parts stores if you can't find the parts listed above.
