Two-Tone Black & White 4wd?

I've searched high and low, and have not come across any pictures of a 4wd 67-72 chevy or gmc that is two-toned black and white (white roof & middle, the rest black). If any body has a picture of one I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Come to think of it ... I don't recall seeing a color combo as such.

here's the color combo - just not a 4x4. I think this is one of Harold's great trucks(?) (my apologies if it's someone else's) It has always been one of my favorites.

Thanks for the pic. Now I remember seeing the Black & White but as you have said...not sure if I have ever seen a 4x4 either

Re: Two-Tone Black & White 4wd?

That is a hard to find combination and the 400 series deluxe two-tone would only be correct or original to 71 or 72. Here are some black and whites plus a dark blue that you could photshop to black. However I do have some other black 4x4 pictures if that would help.

Re: Two-Tone Black & White 4wd?

I love the look of the black & white trucks, but wasn't sure how it would look as a 4wd, but it looks great. But my 4wd is going to be a '70 so I think for the paint scheme to look correct I'd have to use a '71/'72 front clip.

Re: Two-Tone Black & White 4wd?

You are correct the deluxe two-tone is only correct for 71-72 trucks. But it is often (way too often) seen on other years. The white rocker scheme would be correct for a 70 and would make the truck look taller if that appeals to you. Plus it is an easy touch up.

Re: Two-Tone Black & White 4wd?

I do think the white rocker scheme looks awesome on a '70, it gives it more of a tough truck look.

Re: Two-Tone Black & White 4wd?

So problem solved then, white roof and rockers???? :-)

Now on the inside...
Thinking black buckets as a full on CST....
But then parchment (no houndstooth) works too...
Though it is a 70, so red is correct as well...

Re: Two-Tone Black & White 4wd?

I've been kind of steering away from the parchment just because they seem harder to keep clean, especially the parchment seats. What exactly was included in the CST package?

Re: Two-Tone Black & White 4wd?

Parchment is harder to keep clean but has its own rewards. It is still a top contender as is Highlander plaid for my dog truck project.

The CST was the top of the line for 70 and is the same as a 71 Cheyenne.
Here is the listing from the data book for Z84.
Bucket seats were an option at any trim level.

What exactly are we starting with anyway? Beyond being a 70 Custom Camper/20 you are making into a K10 it is a mystery. Remember in 70 the Custom Camper badges trumped all trim badges so if you are downgrading the truck to a K10 you might want to find some of the Custom Camper/10 badges. On a final note the K10 LWB and the K20 used the same frame with heavier axles and springs under the 20. Maybe a K20 Custom Camper/20 is doable for you.

Re: Two-Tone Black & White 4wd?

Thanks for that info. My '70 started as a Custom Camper 20 2wd. It had leaf springs in the rear, but no A/C, no bucket seats, and no headliner. I have a '72 K10 chassis that the '70 body will be going on. I've thought about sticking with the 3/4 ton, I just haven't done much research on the axles yet.

Re: Two-Tone Black & White 4wd?

Jocko thanks for the compliment! My daughter's anniversary truck is getting closer every day, and we are both excited. Hope to post some pics of it tomorrow. Need to finish the medium olive and white truck as well as the medium red and white truck. It sucks to have one in paint but it is truly awful to have two in paint.

Ha! Yes, you DO need to finish up the med olive one - that is my favorite 4x4, love that truck. Don't think I've ever seen your white/red one...
