Black top

Here's a combo you don't see too often.
Orange with a black top.
I figured the top was painted sometime later, but it's original.

Re: Black top

Factory color combo. 70-72 code 565 black/red orange custom two-tone.

Sicklajoie, I'm kind of surprised you haven't done this to your truck yet.

Re: Black top

It's tempting, although I'd rather do white.
Someday....

I can say for 100% certainty this is a legit color combination. My father also owned this exact truck but it had the black vinyl top youve seen talked about in other posts. I am building a 1969 longbed prostreet version of his exact truck right now which I hope to finish before he passes due to poor health. He is currently in the hospital as we speak, I love the orange and black although I also like the two toned orange and white. Just a orange color fanatic I guess

Black attracts all Color, while White reflects..I guess that's why

I prefer White Top

Re: Black top

I didn't open this thread at first because I thought the topic was asphalt

I've seen an all original Red Orange & Black conventional two-tone (top) '72 GMC Sierra w/black interior. That was cool. The black glove box door really set the interior off. I was thinking the owner might be a Baltimore Orioles fan...heh heh.

Joe,I like your truck solid paint, although I guess you're thinking the white top and wheels would compliment one another.
