1964 truck motor mounts
I recently put a 80 c10 front end in my 64 c10 and when trying to use the motor mount brackets out of the 80 c10, the lower bolt holes line up with the cross member but the top of the motor mount bracket ( where it bolts to the top of the truck frame) is about an inch above the 64 c10 truck frame. I am a first timer here any suggestions or did I do something wrong

You can use the 67-72 motor mounts as they are shorter than the later model ones. You will still have to use about a 1" spacer on top of the frame to make up the gap.
Check around the forums here...there are a number of threads dealing with this topic and one has the pictures of the spacers and how they were used. I was going to do that before I settled on using the mounts I had. I do have a pair of engine stanchions I just put up in the classified sections...with the motor mounts all ready to go. T

The '73-'87 C10 motor mount brackets are going to be too tall for your '64 C10 frame, because the later frames are taller. If you want to run the newer style motor mounts (they are a much better design IMO) then you will need to get a set of brackets from a '73-'87 C20 or C30. Those frames are closer in height to the early frames.
However, if you are planning on running the original manual trans with the crossmember mounted bellhousing, the later style motor mounts won't position your engine in the same location as it was originally. If this is the case, just use your original motor mounts. While I am not a big fan of that style motor mount, they were used from '63-'72 in all truck applications. If your engine is stock or mildly built, you should be fine.
